Just like the Prophecy had expected, Harry defeated Voldemort.
The castle was half in ruins, and multiple people had lost their lives to the fight Voldemort had released on the innocents of Hogwarts. Many students dealt with the loss of their friends, family members, teachers. The Weasley's mourned for Fred, and many Death Eaters were killed in the aftermath of the battle. Once the battle was over for good, all students were released from school. The school was taped off for repairs, and many students were lost without their school.
Thankfully, it only took a few months to repair the school. Teachers were able to come back and repair what they could, as well as other witches and wizards from around London. But many felt odd; where would they be without the trust and respect of their students? So after a long debate about whether or not re-opening the school would put a target on their backs again, Hogwarts was offically re-opened.
Students returned, and new ones entered. Many of the old teachers were replaced by new ones, and without a real Headmaster or Headmistress looking after school, Head of Houses took turns until the word got out; Hogwarts was in need of a Headmaster or Headmistress. The school was borderlining on chaos; without a proper ruler, where would the school go?
And so, this leads us to the present day.
